need...sleep...

Im obsessed right now, can't fall asleep cause i keep thinking of stuff that has to be done. One thing really weighing on me is Al's residency card still needs to show up...he sent for it in june cause it expired and it's supposed to take 72 days....so the wait begins...without this card we can't go to Mexico on our honeymoon. Yes, i know i should relax but i HATE not knowing exactly where things are and what's going to happen. Bad i know. I haven't even got all the RSVP's for the wedding and i've already done a 1st draft of the seating arrangments to get an idea of what I want. I know. Relax. GRR I can't until this thing is done!

Mom and Papa will be here for the night, picking up my car. Me and Al bought a Tribute from his dad and so im giving my car back to my parents. They pretty much gave it to me anyway since after paying for half of it they just said don't worry about the payments. I was in a tough spot financially at the time. So , Victoria will be getting her permit soon and this way she'll have a car to drive.

I found this place in Sparta, On thanks to my cousin that I can get a couple cases of Sparkling Juice for the wedding and even get personalized labels on it for a great price so one of these few weekends i have left I need to get to Sparta and pick up a few cases for the wedding. Ive got a shower this week, Rachel's throwing another one the 23ed, sometime we have to get to Niagara on the Lake to try and find some scottish tartan ribbon and a scottish cake topper...I may just scratch that and settle for my other idea with the cake. There's just no time for all that needs to be done now. Im SOOOO glad I took the week off before the wedding . I dont' think i could work and do last minute stuff.

Right now i'd settle with falling asleep when I want to rather than having my brain work overtime . I dont' like OT unless i get PAID!

Rain

It's wednesday of our vacation week. Today is my dad's birthday. I was able to get about 2 bars on my cell to call him. He's 52 today, he forgot it was his birthday till rachel called him this morning lol.

It's cloudy , overcast and raining on and off today. We're supposed to get thunderstorms later this evening, i hope we do! I love thunderstorms...so long as the power doesn't go out! Im in the sunroom, got the tv on and am taking a break from my book that ive been reading.

obviously i have nothing enlightening to say...

Vacation Shorts

Well, It's FINALLY here....Vacation. Im still not quite in vacation mode. Yes, im sitting inside an Airconditioned trailer instead of out in the sun...I was out earlier , came in to cool off. We arrived up here at Sherkston Shores on Saturday and spent the evening and Sunday morning with Al's parents. We went to the homeowners BBQ...i have to say I CANNOT eat smoked burgers. they look raw and im sorry but my mind can't get past that.

I do have to say im impressed with the WiFI this year, it's alot faster and more stable than last year. We went to FtErie yesterday and went to the Bulk Barn, got some "supplies' lol I made this mix of Sesamie Seeds, Peanuts, White Choc chips and chocolate covered Peanuts...it's really good!
We had our first fire of the week last night, had some s'mores.

Im alone at the trailer today, Al headed to Hamilton for a Charity Golf Tournament so Im here with my tv, computer and book. Im desperatly trying to get into relax mode and be comfortable doing NOTHING ....im getting there but i have a sink full of dishes that need to be cleaned before that!

I took the golf cart out to the quarry beach...got it stuck in the sand lol Here I am foot on the "gas" and not sitting but trying to push it...inch by inch... I got it...and said screw walking on the beach im going back lol. I have a book by Patricia Cornwell that Al's dad loaned me , Im going to make it through that now.... back outside to the sunshine!

Buckleys

Im going to Rachels today to visit with Buck. Buck is a golden retriever. He's 15 years old and he is going to be put down next friday. Buck has been part of our family and Rachel's dog for 12 years. Buck is an amazing dog. Rachel got him from the breeder 12 years ago, I met Buck when i moved to Quebec in 2002. At that time i lived with Rachel for 2 years and helped with Buckleys. He is a very happy dog, he looks like he's smiling all the time. My parents had adopted bucks' sister Molly. When Rachel first moved here to Ontario in 2005 Buck stayed with my parents. when Rachel moved in with Sean and they started renting a house Buck was brought back here and was able to be with his mommy again. Buck has lived a great life, from the years at mom and papa's running and playing in the Lake, sunning in the sun, spending winter in a heated Garage and real bones not this rawhide crap, thanks to my dad. He never barked, in fact it was about 8 months of living with them before i heard Buck bark. I had forgotten him on the balcony and he wanted in lol.

I remember he was a poop machine, we'd let him out and he'd poop in about 5 different places before he was done. He was funny. We'd come home from work and be sitting on the couch and he'd jump up and sit beside us on the couch resting his head on our shoulder. Oh and did i mention he LOVED food? He was way too spoiled by us. We'd be eating and he'd come and sit beside you at the table then look away. He would not look at you , it was like he was pretending to be invisible or was gonna sit there and pretend to not care till you gave him food lol.

So today I will be visiting Buck, loving him and making memories with him. Buck today is suffering from Arthritis, he's almost blind and is almost deaf. He's lived a great life. He was loved.

Day by Day

So ive come to the conclusion that it's a choice as to weather or not i am going to have a good day. Each day as i head to work i tell myself that i will have a good day. The past few days' it's worked. It can get hard and frustrating at times just with the calls we deal with every day. Some days are great , some days are bad. I hate the bad days because it takes me a few days to get over them. It's a daily lesson to me to take it one day...one call at a time. The customers are not yelling at ME...they are..but really they are just venting to a voice on the phone. Sometimes there's people that just make you want to help them more, even when there's nothing you can really do. Those are hard ones. There are limits to what we can do. The rest is up to you.

We're planning our stag and doe this saturday, im looking forward to that. The games the prizes it's gonna be a fun time. Im just looking forward to a big party lol. I am looking forward to seeing our friends again , we dont' see them as often in the winter. Summer time more so with baseball and stuff but winter...everyones home with the kids and we pretty much all hibernate.

I taped the Oprah show today . I cannot stand watching Oprah, but Ruby was on today and i really wanted to see her. I started watching that show "Ruby" halfway through the season and i just fell in love with her. Her attitude and spirit is beautiful. She is a very beautiful woman and im totally rooting for her to go all the way.

Rough day

So this week has been insane. Work is so busy , so many escalations. they've doubled this week alone. It was so bad today we had to close Esco's at 7. That's an hour and 45 minutes earlier than usual because we were short handed and taking so many calls. I was told to go F*&^ myself, i was told to get a different job cause i sure as hell can't do mine...I was screamed at yelled at...all in a day's work. To top it off i had to take the car to get brakes done, i gave them Rachel's cell phone number thinking i gave them MINE. So when they tried to call wondering where Al was ( he forgot to pick it up after work) they got rachels voicemail. So he feels like a dumbass for forgetting, and im a dumbass for not knowing my own number. I forgot my lunch at home both monday and today.

im so ready for this week to get better.

March Madness

So Ive come to grips that im not so good at this blog thing. I really should do this more cause i have a horrible memory. anyway....I got the job that i had applied for. Sort of...I didn't get the permanent position, but i did get a year contract so that's good! The two that got the permanent positions had been working in that department longer than i had so while it's all fair it still sorta pisses me off that my supervisor never asked me if i had any interest in working there. Every other person with a different supervisor was practically forced into it ...not me...i had to approach him whenever i had an interest. He did for sure go all out helping me get to where i wanted to get when i told him but still....Oh well..at least i still have more seniority than those other girls lol. Plus alot can happen in a year, a new position could open up by then and i'd get another shot at it. But for the next 12 months Im where i want to be and i'll be getting the Pay to reflect that. That'll really help with the wedding and future plans for house buying.

the girls picked out their bridesmaid dresses this week. So one more thing done...tonight off to a stag and doe for Sarah from work. Should be interesting, then off early to TO airport to drop Victoria off so she can fly back home.

Have i mentioned im sick of winter?

So, lots is going on right now. Rachel got laid off about 3 weeks ago, but she got the job at Cogeco and starts next week! woohoo, she sticks it out and i get $500 as a referral! I applied for a permanent position with SCA, the supervisor is meeting with HR tomorrow to go over applications so hope to hear of an interview by the end of the week.

Victoria is flying down in 2 weeks to go dress shopping with the girls to pick out bridesmaid dresses. Can't believe the kid is 15 years old and is old enough to fly by herself. I still think of her as the little 2 year old with bobbing curls crying watching Bambi and asking me ...or "nina" as she calls me, to tickle her arm.

Winter Update

So, how about this winter! It really sucks in my opinion. Anyway, things are pretty good still. Not too much action going on. Me and Al went to dinner last week with his sister and her son Ryan. It was a nice suprise. Another HUGE surprise was when she told us that her and Dan , her husband were giving us $1,000 for the wedding as a gift. They wanted us to know so we could use it if we needed it before hand for payments on stuff. So that was a huge shocker there and very generous of them. We are most definatly very gratefull and it really is helping with the budgeting and saving and so on.

Im trying to find a "do it yourself" site for making bouquets with artificial flowers. I'd like to do it this way rather than with fake flowers that will die so quickly and be way more expensive.

So my sister lost her job on Wednesday which totally sucks for her. BUT , fingers crossed...she had an interview at Cogeco the same day and they are checking on her refrences and confirming her employment now so Im really hoping that she gets this job. It's only part time but it's a higher paid job and she'd start out making $17 an hour....I have been there close to 3 years and just this past year got over $17 and hour! So that's awesome for her! So fingers crossed and prayers up that she gets this.

Due to the wonderful economy they have not posted any job postings for the SCA position that i want. Despite 3 permanent positions are now free on this already understaffed department. I really really want this, it would mean a HUGE pay increase, we're talking a $5 / hour raise. I already do this position only because im not a permanent member of the team i get the crappy hours and no premium pay. It really REALLY sucks, but it's just something that i have to do in order to prove myself and hopefully get on the team permanently. So prayers that happens soon, cause it would really help with saving for the wedding and stuff and totally make crappy shifts worth while.

Moving along

This week we got our wedding invitations delivered as well as our wedding Favors. We're getting so much done so early, im going to be at a loss of what to do for the rest of the time. I am not too into having a wedding cake, honestly the only think i want is the topper...Al found one with a groom in a kilt lol. anyway, Mom wants us to have a cake and she has offered to pay for it so i need to find a cake. But im sorry, hundreds of dollars on a cake is just rediculous. At work yesterday talking to Carol, she mentioned that another woman at work makes wedding cakes on the side for reasonable prices. So i sent her an email to see if she still does or if she knows a reasonable baker or has suggestions.

Al's going to see if the guys can play a round of golf on that day as well so Im thinking that we won't get a limo. I don't really see the need for one really. My dad offered to drive us in his new ginormous pick up...it's black..and really nice, im thinking just to use that and save some cash!

today we're off to Al's parents for his and Hailey's birthday dinner. got to go get ready.

it's all about the Chi

I am so happy! I bought a Chi hair straightener online last week and got it in the mail yesterday. I LOVE it! best of all I didn't pay $200 for it! nope! I got it for $60 ! I used it today, it's amazing it heats up in like 15 seconds! I can do in 3 minutes what it takes 20 to do with my old straightener. I also got 3 Crash Bandicoot games that i ordered today, but i need a PS1 memory card cause ours are PS2 so i ordered them off ebay today. Work has been ok, they 're finally getting me back to SCA on a regular basis for backup. Due to the economy they're unofficially putting a "freeze" on any job postings or hirings which totally sucks, i really want to be in SCA and the pay raise would really help with the wedding.

I ended up taking the money that the guy who rear ended me paid me $1500 was what the lowest estimate was..and we put it in our savings for the wedding. We figured, the car is still working as normal, and it's an old car why spend that much money on cosmetics when it's an old car. If it was new...totally different. But this car is 10 years old. So that will help with paying the wedding. My goal is to have the wedding paid in full by that day. After the wedding we start saving for a down payment for a house. Can i just say that HOLY CRAP weddings are not cheap! We have managed to save alot of money through different ways though. We ordered our invitations online and should recieve them next week. That alone saved a few hundred dollars. We are meeting with a minister on Monday to go over the ceramony and give him a deposit.

Now i just have to figure out the flowers and that's all i can do for a few months i guess.

Happy New Year!

It was a good year for me last year. I welcomed 2008 with the love of my life, I got engaged, started planning a wedding, bought a wedding dress. I moved into a new apartment with Al. Work is good, got a raise. Went on a cruise, something i've always wanted to do. All in all i'd say it was a good year.

This year, welcoming in the new year was a quiet night, we stayed home and watched tv, watched the ball drop in bed then crashed. It was nice and peaceful and WARM.

I did a little cleaning then a little shopping online . I bought Al a PS2 for christmas as well as a golden Tee golf game that he wanted. So i borrowed Rachels' Crash games, now i got Al to try it. He's never played any Crash type games before. Good thing too cause i bought 4 games off Ebay yesterday for dirt cheap lol.

Well, this evening we're off to the future inlaws for New Years dinner then back to work tomorrow. I figure i'll start it off right so my first work day of the new year will be with 2 added hours of overtime. Got a wedding to pay for!
